We are currently searching for a full-time Community Engagement Liaison to join our Blue Island/Merrionette Park Team!
SALARY: Compensation is commensurate with years of related experience, position requirements, and candidate qualifications. The average salary for the position is $40,000.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:
Coordinate all activities for adult community residents, including creating a Residents Advisory Committee from the combined communities of Blue Island and Robbins, IL.
Coordinate focus groups and conduct community needs assessments to assess community participation and identify opportunities to maximize program outreach and presence.
Attend Blue Island/Robbins Neighborhood Network committee meetings, and support the work of each committee, as it relates to adult residents.
Facilitate parent and community member participation in Network events and activities.
Support the Blue Island/Robbins Neighborhood Network Coordinator in data collection and reporting.
Support the Steering Committee and Issue Committee Leads by sharing information on community events and activities, and contributing necessary information for grant reporting.
Under the direction of the Blue Island/Robbins Neighborhood Network Coordinator, attend external meetings and events.
Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:
A High School Diploma or equivalent education, required.
OR Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Community Health, or related field, preferred.
Five years of experience working with parents/adults or with groups, required.
Bilingual - English/Spanish, preferred.
Must have excellent communication skills (phone, email, social media).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google tools.
Must have access to a vehicle, proof of insurance and valid driver’s license to perform essential job functions required.
Must be punctual, reliable and dependable with the ability to work flexible hours (some evenings and weekends).
Culturally competent, with strong interpersonal skills.
Comfortable and confident in a fast-paced environment.
Acute attention to details and excellent organizational skills.
Knowledge of the Blue Island/Robbins communities.
Must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills.
Dependability and the ability to produce high-quality work independently. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch.
The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing and viewing a computer terminal.
The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
